The Winton Award is made to an outstanding youth sailor who has demonstrated consistent sailing ability and sustained interest in the sport and is recognized by his or her peers and mentors as worthy of special recognition. The Winton Family has created the Award to honor the late Charles J Winton, renown sailor and Commodore of The San Francisco Yacht Club and it carries with it a $1000.00 cash stipend intended to be used to advance the sailing career of the recipient.

The award for 2002 went to Morgan Gutenkunst.
The award for 2003 went to Sean Kelly.
The award for 2004 went to Myles Gutenkunst
The award for 2005 went to Claire Dennis
